Buy FAQtory once and use it forever, updates included. Personal covers one site; Unlimited covers every site you own. Don't resell it or give it away. If it's not for you, ask for a refund within 14 days.
1. Who these terms are with
FAQtory is made by LOM Design, a design studio based in Tokyo, Japan ("we", "us"). These terms apply to the FAQtory WordPress theme and this website. By buying or using FAQtory, you agree to them.
2. Buying FAQtory
Purchases are processed by Freemius, Inc., which acts as the Merchant of Record. This means Freemius is the legal seller of the product, handles the payment, and is responsible for collecting any applicable sales tax or VAT. Freemius' own terms apply to the transaction itself; these terms govern your use of the theme.
Prices are shown in US dollars. Your bank may add currency conversion fees, which are outside our control.
3. What your license allows
Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use FAQtory:
- Personal — one website.
- Unlimited — every website you own and operate, with no site limit.
You may use FAQtory on commercial websites, and you may modify it for your own use (we recommend the bundled child theme).
Client work
You may install FAQtory on a website you build for a client and hand that site over to them. We ask for one license per client, so that the client is properly covered for updates and support on their site. Your own websites remain covered by your own license.
What you may not do
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or give away FAQtory or any part of it.
- Present it as your own work, or remove or obscure authorship and license notices.
- Use it to build a competing theme or product for distribution or sale.
- Share your license key so that others can use it outside your license.
4. Code license
FAQtory uses a split license, which is the standard arrangement for commercial WordPress themes:
- PHP files are licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later.
- Stylesheets, JavaScript, images, and other assets remain the copyrighted work of LOM Design and may not be redistributed.
The full text ships with the theme in LICENSE.txt.
5. Updates and support
Your purchase includes lifetime updates and support. There is no renewal, no subscription, and no expiry date on your licence. Updates are delivered through your WordPress dashboard via Freemius.
"Lifetime" means the supported lifetime of this product: for as long as we continue to develop and sell FAQtory, your licence entitles you to its updates. If we ever discontinue the theme, your copy keeps working — nothing switches off on your site.
Support is provided by email in English, on a best-effort basis, and covers the theme itself: installation, settings, bugs, and how things are meant to work. It does not cover custom development, third-party plugins, server configuration, or modifications you've made to the code.
6. Refunds
Every purchase comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If FAQtory isn't right for you, email support [at] faqtorytheme.com within 14 days of purchase with a brief note about why it didn't work for you, and you'll get your money back. We ask for the reason so we can improve the theme, not to talk you out of it. Refunds are issued by Freemius as the Merchant of Record.
7. No warranty
FAQtory is provided "as is". We build and test it carefully, but we can't promise it will be free of bugs, or that it will work with every plugin, host, and WordPress version in existence. You are responsible for keeping backups of your site.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from FAQtory or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or other indirect or consequential damages.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited under the law of your country.
9. Ending the license
If you breach these terms — for example by redistributing the theme — your license ends. Refunded purchases end the license too, and the theme should be removed from your sites.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the product develops. The version in force at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to it. Material changes will be noted on this page, and the date at the top will be updated.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, with the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance for any dispute — except where the law of your own country gives you the right to bring a claim locally as a consumer.
